The Medical Assistant provides basic clinical and clerical support in the delivery of patient care within a busy medical oncology office/infusion center setting. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Provides direct patient care under direction of provider and nurses, including but not limited to: vitals, allergy & medication reconciliation, screenings, patient history, health maintenance, advance directives, virtual health
• Provides indirect patient care related to the Medical Assistant scope of education, including but not limited to: scheduling, work queues/worklists, check in/check out, referrals, in-basket, chart prep, non-clinical patient result callbacks, prior authorizations, transportation facilitation
• Conducts point of care testing including quality control & documentation including but not limited to: EKG, hemoglobin A1C, urinalysis, hemoglobin POCT, urine toxicity, INR

Qualifications:

• Education: Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR an active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic Certification OR relative experience
• Experience: In lieu of education requirement, at least one year of experience in direct patient care (acute or ambulatory space) may be considered
