License: NYS Licensure as a Pathologist Assistant or equivalent
Certifications: Preferred - ASCP Certification, Fellow of the American Association of Pathologists Assistants
Must-Have: Bachelor's degree or higher from a Pathologist Assistants program
Experience in gross room techniques
Experience with gross/microscopic photography
Experience in performing gross examination and dissection of specimens
EPIC charting system experience is preferred
Travelers must be away from the previous employer for at least one year and cleared for consideration
All required modules must be completed prior to starting the position
Responsibilities include assisting and training Pathology Residents in various techniques, obtaining and reviewing patient clinical information, performing gross examination and dissection of both large and small specimens, preparing tissues for histological processing and specimen accessioning, and performing specimen fixation and labeling.
