Senior Business Analyst – D365 Finance and Operations

Polaris is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to serve as the functional SME for Supply Chain Management, Inventory, Fulfillment, Warehouse Operations, Logistics, ATP/ETA, Intercompany, Goods in Transit, and 3PL/EDI capabilities within the International Order to Cash Product Team. The role will own requirements analysis, Functional Design Documents (FDDs), solution validation, UAT, and senior functional escalation for complex production issues. The individual will work in consultation with the cross-domain Functional Lead and Product Owner/Product Manager to align designs, priorities, and business outcomes. The role will maintain current-state D365 process and design knowledge, support stable operations, and help ensure near-term enhancements are evaluated against the broader ERP future-state direction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the domain SME for Inventory, Fulfillment, Warehouse Operations, Logistics, ATP/ETA, Intercompany Supply Chain, Goods in Transit, and 3PL processes within International Order to Cash.
• Design D365 functional solutions and configuration approaches in consultation with the Functional Lead and Product Owner/Product Manager.
• Analyze and improve order-to-fulfillment processes, including inventory availability, allocation, reservation, picking, packing, shipment, delivery, transfers, partial delivery, cancellation, and item substitution.
• Own functional analysis for 3PL and EDI flows, including item and ASN messages, picking and load confirmations, stock adjustments, shipment interfaces, and warehouse exceptions.
• Assess cross-functional impacts across Sales, Accounts Receivable, product master data, Finance, integrations, portals, and external warehouse or corporate systems.
• Lead functional validation and UAT for enhancements, defects, D365 upgrades, integrations, and country-specific changes; confirm readiness for production deployment.
• Act as the senior functional escalation point for complex SCM and fulfillment incidents while the support team retains ticket ownership.
• Lead functional root-cause analysis with Support, Engineering, QA, and Integration teams, and recommend sustainable corrective actions.
• Review proposed solutions and FDDs from related domains for SCM, inventory, fulfillment, and downstream operational impact.
• Maintain current-state and future-state process flows, business rules, configuration rationale, integration dependencies, and key design decisions.
• Preserve institutional knowledge and support documentation needed for stable D365 operations and future ERP transformation activities.
• Partner with global business teams and product stakeholders to prioritize improvements, simplify processes, and reduce recurring operational issues.

Skill Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

• 10+ years of Microsoft Dynamics AX/D365 Finance & Operations experience, including senior business analysis or functional consulting responsibilities.
• Deep functional expertise in Inventory Management, warehouse and fulfillment operations, intercompany supply, ATP/order promising, reservations, transfers, and logistics.
• Hands-on experience creating FDDs, process flows, user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional test scenarios.
• Experience with 3PL and EDI-enabled warehouse processes, including ASN, picking, load confirmation, stock adjustment, and shipment flows.
• Experience leading UAT, upgrade validation, and complex functional production investigations in a multi-country D365 environment.
• Ability to evaluate business, configuration, master-data, integration, customization, and standard-product impacts across end-to-end processes.
• Strong stakeholder facilitation, analytical, documentation, and business communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced Warehouse Management, Goods in Transit, voyage/container, VIN or serial-controlled inventory experience.
• Knowledge of EDI 832, 940, 944, 945, and 204 transactions and third-party warehouse integrations.
• Experience with product substitution, bundles/kits, inventory allocation, landed-cost or international distribution processes.
• Experience documenting current-state processes and supporting ERP modernization or migration readiness.
