Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated Quality Control Lab Technician to support its Thin Film, Precursor & Advanced Materials Laboratory in Fremont, CA. This role is ideal for candidates interested in laboratory operations, quality control, and chemical analysis within a high-tech manufacturing environment.

The technician will assist with sample preparation, laboratory maintenance, documentation, inventory management, and support chemists using advanced analytical equipment while ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, log, and track laboratory samples using the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Transport samples between laboratory locations.
• Clean laboratory bottles, glassware, and plasticware.
• Prepare bottle kits, reagents, standards, and chemical samples.
• Assist chemists with laboratory testing and routine instrument maintenance.
• Maintain calibration, preventive maintenance, and quality records.
• Handle and transport gas cylinders safely.
• Follow all laboratory SOPs, ISO/IMS quality procedures, and safety regulations.
• Support hazardous chemical handling and proper chemical waste disposal.
• Maintain laboratory organization using 6S principles.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects and method development.
• Perform sampling activities at customer sites when required.
• Collaborate with laboratory teams and communicate effectively with internal departments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or
• Associate Degree in Chemistry or another related science field.

Required Skills

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic laboratory knowledge and willingness to learn.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace, and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is preferred.
• Good problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
• Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment.
• Able to safely handle acids and laboratory chemicals while wearing required PPE.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance.
• Flexible to support other laboratory areas and occasional weekend work.

Preferred Experience

• Laboratory, QC/QA, chemical handling, or sample preparation experience.
• Exposure to analytical instruments such as ICP-MS, ICP-OES, spectrophotometers, profilometers, or similar equipment is a plus.
