Make a meaningful impact supporting high school students in a cognitive impairment classroom, working on a contract basis through the end of the 2026-2027 school year. Two positions are available for passionate special education professionals ready to collaborate and deliver top-quality instruction in a supportive environment near Battle Creek, MI. You'll work alongside dedicated staff to help students build independence, life skills, and academic success.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Michigan Special Education Teacher license is required (please provide a screenshot of your current credential for verification).
• Experienced in or enthusiastic about teaching high school students with cognitive impairments.
• Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
• Collaborative, flexible approach to working as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Create and deliver engaging, differentiated lesson plans tailored to cognitive impairment student needs.
• Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Collect and analyze student data to track growth and adjust instruction as needed.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
• Support students with communication, self-help, social skills, and vocational training as appropriate.
• Partner with families, ancillary staff, and administration to implement best educational practices.
• Maintain accurate records and attend required meetings and professional development sessions.

This is a full-time (37.5 hours/week), contract-based opportunity with the potential to profoundly influence students’ educational journeys.
