Desired Skills and Qualifications:

• Hold an active Michigan Special Education Teacher license
• Experience or strong interest in serving high school-aged students in a special education setting
• Skilled in adapting curriculum for students with cognitive impairments
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and support staff
• Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management abilities
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, modify, and deliver instructional plans tailored to the needs of students with cognitive impairments
• Assess student progress regularly and adapt strategies to ensure individual growth
• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations
• Foster a classroom culture of respect, understanding, and achievement
• Work closely with support staff, administration, and families to ensure student success
• Participate in ongoing professional development and comply with reporting requirements
