Key Qualifications:

• Active Michigan Special Education Teaching license (verification required)
• Experience working in high school settings preferred
• Familiarity with Cognitive Impairment programs and individualized instruction
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to develop, implement, and adapt Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Collaborative mindset for working with families, support staff, and other educators

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design and implement lesson plans tailored to students with cognitive impairments
• Assess students’ academic and developmental needs, and monitor progress toward IEP goals
• Engage in daily classroom management and foster a respectful, positive environment
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress
• Partner with support staff to deliver comprehensive services to each student
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in compliance with state and federal regulations
• Participate in professional development and staff meetings as required
