This position involves weekend overnight shifts of 12 hours, with flexible day options available.

The role entails conducting high-quality diagnostic polysomnographic (PSG) tests, including titration, multiple sleep latency tests (MSLT), and Maintenance of Wakefulness Tests (MWT). You will be responsible for accurately recording and providing essential data to physicians for diagnosing and treating patients with sleep and wake disorders. Additionally, you will educate patients on prescribed therapies and may follow up with them as needed. Technical troubleshooting may also be required.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting Sleep Study Procedures or Neurological Testing for diverse patient populations.
• Understanding the testing equipment thoroughly, including its structure, function, and maintenance.
• Applying principles of anatomy and physiology relevant to the procedures performed.
• Monitoring and documenting patient information in medical records according to facility guidelines.
• Demonstrating knowledge of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) standards and accreditation.
• Possessing a comprehensive understanding of diseases and conditions encountered in this field.
• Working effectively with all age groups and addressing the unique developmental needs of various client populations.
• Performing additional department-specific tasks as required.
• Participating in scoring or tabulation of studies based on facility and departmental needs.
• Supervising students and/or staff in providing patient care and treatment as part of their training when necessary.

• Graduation from an accredited program in Electroneurodiagnostic Technology, Respiratory Technology, or a related medical specialty is preferred.
• A minimum of two years of relevant experience in the Sleep Disorders field is preferred.
• Knowledge of sleep disorders and electrical safety, along with proficiency in using computers for patient documentation and data collection.
• If you are a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), you must obtain the RPSGT or Sleep Disorder Specialty (RRT-SDS) credential within two years of starting in this role or be enrolled in one of the following:
• Enrollment in or completion of the A-STEP Online Self Study Modules. Non-registered technologists must finish these modules within two years of enrollment.
• Enrollment in or completion of a polysomnography training program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or a Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) program with a polysomnography option.
• In North Dakota, licensure as an RRT or RPSGT is required.
• Must obtain and maintain mandatory continuing education units (CEUs) annually to uphold licensure and/or registry.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 60 days of employment.
