VTL Machinist

CNC VTL MachinistWe are seeking an experienced CNC VTL (Mill or Lathe) Machinist to support precision machining operations in a high-production aerospace manufacturing environment in Long Beach, CA. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC Vertical Turret Lathe (VTL) machines to produce high-precision components to tight tolerances. The machinist will also support secondary machining operations including CNC milling and lathe work as needed to ensure production flow and efficiency.This position offers long-term direct hire stability, overtime opportunities, and the ability to work in a highly skilled aerospace manufacturing environment.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate CNC Vertical Turret Lathe (VTL) machines for precision machining operationsInterpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T requirements to produce accurate partsPerform machine setups including tooling selection, offsets, and adjustmentsMonitor machining processes and make real-time adjustments to ensure quality and efficiencyInspect finished parts using precision measuring instrumentsTroubleshoot machining issues and support continuous production flowSupport CNC milling and secondary lathe operations when requiredMaintain machine cleanliness and perform basic preventive maintenanceCollaborate with supervisors and quality teams to meet production goals and quality standardsQualifications3+ years of CNC VTL machining experience in a production or aerospace environmentStrong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skillsExperience with machine setup, operation, and troubleshootingAbility to use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standardsAbility to work 2nd shift and overtime as requiredPreferredAerospace machining experienceExperience in high-volume production environmentsFamiliarity with Fanuc or similar CNC controlsExperience with both VTL and milling/lathe support operationsBenefits: Medical, Dental, Vision 401(k) Paid Time Off Overtime opportunities Long-term direct hire stability
