Department Website: Director’s EEO Policy : Director’s EEO Policy Statement: Job Description And Duties Under the supervision of a Senior Transportation Surveyor, incumbents perform a wide variety of tasks related to land surveying in a field setting. Incumbents are assigned difficult and complex tasks and function as a supervisor of a field crew. In this role, the incumbent plans, coordinates and participates in the activities and operations of various surveying tasks in the field. Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the TRANSPORTATION SURVEYOR PARTY CHIEF (CALTRANS) exam. For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions. Special Requirements The position requires a California Land Surveyor License. You will be required to provide a copy of your license prior to being hired. Possession of a valid driver’s license is required when operating a State owned or leased vehicle. Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment.
