Maintenance Supervisor

The Maintenance Supervisor contributes to the success of SoGo Packaging LLC by overseeing the preventative maintenance and repair of plant equipment to ensure uninterrupted day-to-day operations. This individual is responsible for managing a group of maintenance technicians.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Directs, supervises and assists the maintenance technicians in operation and maintenance of plant production equipment and support systems including NF water system, compressed air, refrigeration and steam generation systems. Coordinates and prioritizes PM and repair items as assigned by the Maintenance Coordinator. Works closely with production to ensure production goals are accomplished. Trains employees under his/her supervision, ensuring they are able to safely and effectively repair equipment without unnecessary risk of injury or damage to equipment. Completes training as dictated by SoGo Packaging LLC Standard Operating Procedures. Monitors and corrects personnel in employee relations in order to promote good morale and work relations. Promotes an effective safety program designed to ensure safe working conditions. Directly supervises maintenance technicians. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these technicians. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and guidelines. Responsibilities include interviewing and hiring employees; planning, assigning, directing work; completing assigned PM’s; trouble shooting electrical problems; assisting technicians in the completion of their assigned work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Supports the Plant Engineer in all day to day operation of the maintenance department. Other duties may be assigned. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES Working knowledge of plant facility and utility systems including ammonia refrigeration, multi-fuel boilers, and plant electrical systems is required. Mechanical ability and knowledge. Ability to think and make decisions quickly and effectively. Desire to constantly improve quality or products and verbal communication skills. Must be willing to accept change. Must be comfortable developing and making presentations. Shows integrity by doing the right thing, even when it is difficult, and does not yield to pressure to show bias. Responds positively to change, embracing and using new practices or values to accomplish goals and solve problems. GENERAL FOOD SAFETY REQUIREMENTS Must understand that SoGo Packaging LLC is a food plant and, because of this, in everything we make, he/she has an obligation to produce safe, legal and wholesome products. Must understand the Food Safety Policy and that we operate under a specific Food Safety Management System to ensure all employees follow all our procedures exactly as written. Report any food safety issue or potential issue to management. Must attend any required food safety training (general or specific) and, if required, pass a competency test.

JOB SPECIFIC FOOD SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

This position requires competency in the following FSSTs: Water Process Thermal Processing Cleaning and Sanitation Filter/Magnet Inspection SOP Batching Maintenance Program CCP PX/HT Exit Temperature and Flow O-PRP Basket Filter O-PRP Demonstrate Use of Forms EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE More than 5 years experience in Industrial Maintenance in a supervisory position. 5 to 7 years experience in Industrial Maintenance as a technician Must have a strong background in PLC programming and troubleshooting; Advanced schooling and or training desirable. Background in hot fill bottling is desired but not mandatory.
