Staff Accountant

The primary responsibilities of the Staff Accountant are to support the Corporate Accounting department in the monthly consolidation and close process, support internal and external reporting activities, assist with complex accounting transactions, and ensure consistent application of accounting policies.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Las Vegas Sands Corp.'s policies, practices, and procedures. All Las Vegas Sands Corp. Team Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times. Team Members are required to observe the Company's standards, work requirements and rules of conduct.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist with the monthly corporate consolidation and financial closing process, including preparation of recurring and non-recurring journal entries and supporting schedules.
• Perform fluctuation analyses and investigate unusual variances.
• Provide accurate, timely and usable reports to Corporate Accounting department.
• Review and prepare account reconciliations of general ledger balances.
• Ensure that all aspects of financial practice across the Company's operating units are consistent and in compliance with established corporate policies and procedures.
• Manage consistent application of the general ledger across the Company's operating units.
• Assist with various functions of LVSC's external and internal financial reporting process (SEC filings, earnings related materials, Audit Committee materials, statutory reporting, etc.).
• Assist with complex accounting transactions, including technical accounting research, creating supporting schedules and drafting the accounting memo.
• Advise management of problem areas and request assistance as necessary.
• Identify potential problems, recommend sound solutions and support implementation.
• Support departmental and company decisions, even if unpopular.
• Perform job duties in a safe manner.
• Attend work as scheduled on a consistent and regular basis.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age.
• Proof of authorization to work in the United States.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain any certification or license, as required by law or policy.
• 2-3 years' experience in accounting or finance role required; public accounting experience preferred.
• Must have experience with accounting systems and financial statement closings and analysis.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and interact appropriately with management, other Team Members and outside contacts of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
• Must be able to work extended hours when needed, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to:

• Physically access assigned workspace areas with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Work a hybrid schedule with an expectation of being onsite as frequently as needed to meet business priorities, as determined by the department head.
• Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, and dust.
• Utilize laptop and standard keyboard to perform essential functions of the job.
