KeyBank

Location: 127 Public Square, Cleveland, Ohio Job Summary The Senior Vice President, Portfolio Management is an individual contributor responsible for performing financial analysis and preparing underwriting documents to support complex, multimillion‑dollar corporate credit requests that grow funded assets and Key's client base, while maintaining asset quality within a moderate risk profile. These requests include obtaining initial approval for new, often multi‑faceted, credit exposure (e.g., revolving credit facilities, term loans, leases, foreign exchange products, derivatives products, and other ancillary products) and amendments to existing exposure. The role is assigned a portfolio of high‑value corporate clients and involves ongoing credit monitoring and risk rating, negotiating and reviewing legal documentation, and assisting product partners in cross‑selling additional bank products. The Senior Vice President, Portfolio Management is often one of the most senior deal team members on a transaction and will lead some of the group’s most challenging and complex underwritings and lead left opportunities. In many cases, the individual will work independently, handling all Portfolio Manager (PM) duties with minimal support from junior staff, while providing feedback and guidance to junior staff as appropriate. Responsibilities Gather and analyze all relevant financial and industry data for high‑value clients or prospects, including collaborating with third‑party vendors to ensure accuracy of financial statements, analyzing historical performance, accurately calculating credit metrics, identifying risks and mitigants, assessing creditworthiness, and providing feedback to third‑party resources. Model future financial performance of clients and prospects, including downside scenarios. Serve as a thought leader on the deal team, guiding Business Partners, Bankers, and Relationship Managers in structuring transactions, especially complex multi‑faceted deal structures. Perform enhanced leveraged cash flow due diligence when appropriate, such as within the Banking Group Portfolio Management (BGPM) specialty groups. Prepare thorough credit underwriting documents, proactively identifying credit risks and mitigants and industry concerns. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations including Know Your Customer (KYC), running MCA/Patriot Act/OFAC checks, and certifying Beneficial Ownership. Lead the approval process for complex lending commitments, amendments, waivers, and consents, providing monitoring, reporting, and recommendations to Credit Executives as appropriate. Obtain and review all necessary documentation and business records, including credit agreements, guarantees, pledges, and collateral agreements, ensuring correct terms and conditions. Monitor accounts and ongoing financial performance of the portfolio to track covenant compliance, liquidity, earnings trends, and other essential information, maintaining data integrity in Key's systems. Proactively identify potential problem accounts and work with the Asset Recovery Group to improve the bank’s position in undesirable situations. Establish and maintain strong client relationships, attend management presentations, bank meetings, and conduct plant/site visits as appropriate. Contribute to or prepare white papers on assigned industry segments. Gather and prepare data in response to ad hoc data requests. Provide guidance and feedback to Analysts, Associates, and Vice Presidents as appropriate. Perform other duties as assigned; responsibilities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time. Comply with all KeyBank policies and procedures, acting professionally and ethically at all times. Education Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business or equivalent work experience (required). Master’s Degree or MBA (preferred).
