Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Description

Job Summary:
Registered nurses in Medical Surgical units provide compassionate, competent patient care to a diverse population across all ages. They are responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care in collaboration with the healthcare team, ensuring safety and optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient health status and document findings accurately.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on nursing assessments and medical directives.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions following established protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians and other team members to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Educate patients and their families on health management and discharge instructions.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to nursing team members based on their scope of practice.

Qualifications:

• Current RN licensure in the state of practice.
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred depending on unit.
• Previous acute care or Medical Surgical experience preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
