Mechanic
We are seeking a hands-on, skilled Mechanic to join our team and ensure our equipment operates at peak performance. This role involves strong mechanical aptitude and a commitment to safety and teamwork in an industrial environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and service forklifts and diesel trucks.
- Perform maintenance, repair, and rebuilding of various pumps and mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical components and systems.
- Perform welding tasks such as spot welding, pipe welding, and patching holes (preferred skill).
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure operational efficiency.
- Work safely in an outdoor industrial setting, adhering to all environmental and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain facility operations and address maintenance needs.
Essential Skills
- 3+ years of experience in maintenance/mechanical experience in industrial or commercial settings.
- Strong knowledge of pump systems, equipment maintenance, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Welding experience is a plus.
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and OSHA standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Valid California Driver's license.
- Mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
- Willingness to obtain a 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
- Willingness to work outdoors in an industrial environment.

Work Environment
Work in an indoor/outdoor hazardous waste facility during the first shift from 8 AM to 4:30 PM. Safety is a priority, and all necessary equipment is provided.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Long Beach, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
