The Controller/Office Manager will report to the company's Corporate Controller, is a hands-on bookkeeping role, and will act as the lead liaison for assigned dealerships.We are a family owned and operated group of Automobile Retailers located in White Plains, Nyack, Danbury and Wappingers Falls. We represent some of the finest nameplates in the industry: Volvo, Subaru, Lincoln, Mazda and Volkswagen. You will have opportunities to excel and become the best automotive professional you can be through training and advancement within our growing organization.Our ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:Thorough understanding of automotive administrative and accounting functionsMulti-rooftop experience a plusCDK experienceProficient computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office applicationsDetail-oriented and highly organized with strong follow-up abilitiesEffective communication skills, both written and verbalProfessional and dependable team player, with a high level of integrityJob Responsibilities (including but not limited to)Manage the day-to-day accounting and administrative operations of the dealerships to ensure all transactions are recorded timely, accurately, and in compliance with the company's policies and proceduresObtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure, maintaining accurate and complete accounting records.Obtain a thorough understanding of manufacturer programsManage, develop, and coach staff in a professional, positive work environmentPrepare/Review monthly Financial Statements and ensure timely and accurate reportingPrepare monthly commissions for submission to payroll departmentControl all posted documents including vehicle sales, additions to inventory, expenses, commissions, etc…Reconcile and review all balance sheet accounts regularly to ensure they are current and accurate; identify and rectify any outstanding items; prepare and maintain supporting schedules as neededPrepare sales tax returns and ensure timely submission of payment to appropriate agenciesParticipate in year-end close; providing all necessary schedules and documents as neededMaintain an open dialogue with General Managers and Department Managers to address and resolve any issues/concernsWe OfferCompetitive wagesMedical, dental, and vision coverage401kPaid time offA team of dedicated professionals who help service an overall growing company3rd Generation family friendly atmosphereWe support Alex's Lemonade, Maria Fareri Children's Hospital, countless churches and synagogues, local schools, animal shelters, women's community housing, shelters, food banks, feeding Westchester.
