Corporate Strategy and Planning Lead

Asana’s Corporate Strategy team drives clarity and focus in Asana’s long‑range growth strategy. As a member of this team, you will provide direct consulting support to our C‑suite, handle high‑priority work from our CEO, and apply a BizOps lens to build more rigor around how we run the business, including MBRs. You will also execute on work when other teams are at capacity and help fill critical gaps. This is a high‑visibility role where you will partner with stakeholders across Product, Finance, GTM, and G&A teams to translate vision into executable growth bets. This role is based in our San Francisco office with an office‑centric hybrid schedule. The standard in‑office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays. Working from home on Fridays depends on the type of work you do and the teams with which you partner. What You’ll Achieve New Product Incubation (NPI) & Investment: Lead market analysis to support “big bets,” shape M&A strategy, and develop rigorous investment evaluation frameworks to guide portfolio decisions. Commercial Strategy: Work with cross‑functional teams to set our product portfolio up for success, including assessing and evaluating opportunities to refine our GTM motions. Long‑Range Planning: Drive H2/H3 (Horizon 2 and Horizon 3) planning efforts, identifying long‑term opportunities to ensure sustainable growth. Strategic Threat & Opportunity Analysis: Evaluate existential threats and market opportunities through robust scenario analyses to inform executive decision‑making. Strategic Partnerships: Identify and evaluate strategic partnership opportunities that align with Asana’s long‑term vision. Operating Model and Org Design: Work with leadership to architect the organizational design and internal operating models required to execute against our corporate priorities. Special Projects: Lead bespoke, non‑BAU analyses for high‑priority initiatives that sit outside traditional functional homes. Cross‑Functional Alignment: Drive alignment across Product, Finance, and GTM teams to ensure strategic initiatives are resourced and executed effectively. About You Demonstrates curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn and leverage them to enhance productivity, collaboration, or decision‑making. 6+ years of experience in corporate, product, or GTM strategy, in a B2B SaaS company, ideally one with both PLG and SLG motions, or prior strategy consulting experience. Strong focus on driving portfolio investment decisions and new product incubation. Deep understanding of SaaS business models and GTM motions, with preferred experience navigating complex M&A or strategic partnership evaluations. Strong analytical and cross‑functional skills, with the ability to bridge Product, Finance, and Go‑to‑Market teams to translate vision into executable growth bets. Proven track record of successfully leading complex strategic initiatives from conception to recommendation and execution. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and align diverse stakeholders at all levels. Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field. To ensure pay is fair and not impacted by biases, we’re committed to looking at market value which is why we check ourselves and conduct a yearly pay equity audit. For this role, the estimated base salary range is between $182,000 – $207,000. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The listed range above is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified. In addition to base salary, your compensation package may include additional components such as equity, sales incentive pay (for most sales roles), and benefits.
