Accounting Manager

Beacon Hill is partnering with a well-established NYC nonprofit organization to hire an Accounting Manager on a contract-to-hire basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative finance team and play a key role in the organization's day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, financial reporting, and process improvement initiatives. Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and support month-end and year-end close activities Review journal entries, account reconciliations, accounts payable, and cash activity Assist with financial reporting, budgeting, audit preparation, and compliance requirements Monitor balance sheet and income statement accounts to ensure accuracy Partner with internal stakeholders on accounting processes and special projects Support process improvements, system enhancements, and reporting initiatives Work closely with leadership to ensure timely and accurate financial information Qualifications Bachelor's degree required 5+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting Advanced Excel skills Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills Prior supervisory experience is a plus but not required Preferred Qualifications Nonprofit accounting experience Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge or a similar accounting system Experience supporting audits and financial reporting Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance This is a great opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant ready to step into an Accounting Manager role or for an Accounting Manager looking to join a mission-driven organization with strong work-life balance and long-term growth potential.
