Staff Accountant

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a growing organization in the Carmel, Indiana area to identify a skilled Staff Accountant for a long-term contract opportunity. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, thrives on problem-solving, and takes pride in maintaining accurate financial records. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting month-end close activities, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and day-to-day accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger
  
• Perform monthly bank, balance sheet, and account reconciliations
  
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  
• Analyze financial transactions and investigate discrepancies
  
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation
  
• Prepare and review financial reports for management
  
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed
  
• Assist with fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules
  
• Help ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and accounting standards
  
• Collaborate with finance and operational teams to improve accounting processes
  
• Participate in audits and provide requested documentation
  
• Assist with special projects and ad hoc reporting requests
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
  
• 3+ years of accounting experience in a Staff Accountant, Accounting Analyst, or similar role
  
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting
  
• Experience with account reconciliations and month-end close activities
  
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables and VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs
  
• Experience working with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms preferred
  
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in a corporate accounting environment
  
• Exposure to financial statement preparation and analysis
  
• Previous experience supporting audits
  
• Experience identifying process improvements and efficiencies

Pay Details: $28.00 to $31.00 per hour
