Plant Operations Manager

Hours: 7:00am-3:30pm (flexible as sometimes additional coverage is needed, i.e., 8:00am to 5:00pm)

Location: Chicago, IL

Responsibilities:

Lead production operations in the plant and deliver key performance targets in safety, quality, productivity, volumes, cost, sustainability, and organizational morale.

Manage change and transformation among operating teams in the implementation of IL6S-Integrated Lean 6 Sigma and other models to progress into self-sufficient teams.

Support the manufacturing annual operational plans and targets to meet safety, quality, cost, delivery, sustainability, and engagement goals.

Establish strong governance to review, control operational performance, and continuous improvement plans.

Support all manufacturing standards, governance, and compliance requirements are in place and regularly reviewed.

Lead talent, capabilities, and engagement for the manufacturing team.

Perform daily monitoring and correction of transactional errors affecting data integrity and inventory management.

Ensure 100% compliance with SOX requirements and support internal audits.

Problem solve root causes of errors and provide ad-hoc training and job aides.

Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts and support raw, pack, and FG cycle counts.

Monitor and manage inventory in SAP-ECC inventory locations and manage SAP adjustments.

Serve as Plant Data Steward ensuring BOM accuracy and analyze data and trends for improvement recommendations.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree required.

3+ years of experience required.

Strong SAP experience required.

Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and analytical skills.

Strong computer (MS Office) and communication skills (oral and written).

Prior experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Prior operations experience with production responsibility.

Preferred Skills:

Prior experience implementing World Class Manufacturing tools and processes related to material flow.

Background in LEAN manufacturing systems.

Prior experience with implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles and Lean-Six Sigma capability tools.
