Manager, R&D Procurement

AbbVie seeks a Manager of R&D Procurement to oversee end-to-end vendor procurement for clinical studies, managing sourcing, negotiation, and contracting of specialized service providers. The role requires coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely execution of agreements supporting multiple concurrent clinical development programs.

Responsibilities

• Manage clinical study vendor procurement end-to-end from sourcing through contract execution and compliance
• Lead sourcing and contracting activities for specialized clinical service providers including labs and review boards
• Partner with clinical operations, development, legal, and finance teams to select vendors and finalize agreements
• Track contract deliverables, milestones, and dependencies to identify and resolve execution risks
• Identify process improvements to enhance clinical vendor sourcing, contracting efficiency, and supply assurance

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, clinical operations, or life sciences
• Minimum seven years of procurement, strategic sourcing, or pharmaceutical operations experience
• Demonstrated experience sourcing and contracting clinical study vendors and specialized services
• Proven ability drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts and statements of work
• Strong project management skills managing multiple concurrent studies and competing priorities
• Experience managing teams and leading cross-functional initiatives with coaching capability
