Job Title: Surgical Tech – Operating Room Tech Location: Syracuse, NY 13210 Duration: 3+ month contract (extendable) Shift: Day/Night rotations Pay Rate: $58/hr (Travel) | $48/hr (Local) Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to join a busy Downtown Pediatric Operating Room team. This role involves working in a high-acuity Level 1 trauma center setting, assisting in various surgical procedures, and ensuring optimal patient care and surgical support. Key Responsibilities: Scrub for a wide variety of surgical procedures, including orthopedic, general, ENT, vascular, and gynecologic cases. Prepare the operating room with necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies for scheduled and emergency procedures. Maintain sterile techniques and ensure all surgical instruments are properly handled and accounted for. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless surgical operations. Adhere to hospital protocols, safety procedures, and infection control guidelines. Assist in turnover and preparation of operating rooms for subsequent cases. Requirements: Minimum of 3 years of recent surgical technologist experience within the last 4 years in an acute care operating room setting, preferably in a Level 1 trauma center or teaching hospital. Scrub experience in general surgery and specialty areas including orthopedics, neurosurgery, trauma, vascular, ENT, bariatric, genitourinary (GU), and gynecology (GYN). Experience in pediatric OR preferred. No First Assist duties (per NY State regulations). First-time travelers considered only if experienced in hospitals of equal size and scope. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. No history of professional license or certification suspension or investigation.
