Posting Date Jul 8, 2026, 7:25:24 PM Salary Range $64,469.94 to $82,839.39 Overview CLASS TITLE: Teacher Under the supervision of the school principal, responsible for the instruction, progress, and discipline of all pupils in assigned classes, and performs related duties as required. Responsibilities Plan instructional activities and provide written lesson plans aligned with the instructional program objectives. Establish positive learning expectations for all pupils and evaluate progress, maintaining accurate records of pupil achievement. Apply current teaching methods and learning theory; draw from available instructional materials; participate in the development and implementation of new teaching techniques. Prepare bulletin boards and learning areas reflecting pupils\' current work; demonstrate knowledge of curriculum content related to subject areas and instructional level. Participate in programs to improve student attendance and promote positive behavior in accordance with school policies. Establish and maintain reasonable classroom and school-ground conduct rules; maintain accurate attendance records and seating charts. Engage with parents/guardians, administrators, and staff as needed to discuss pupil progress, attendance, and conduct. Participate in in-service and professional meetings and utilize provided information and materials. Coordinate and attend class field trips and participate in extra-curricular and after-school activities if required. Utilize community resources to support instructional programs. Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience: Successful completion of all student teaching requirements and coursework required for the appropriate teaching certificate(s) issued by the Illinois State Board of Education. Licenses: Possess at least one valid teaching license issued by the Illinois State Board of Education (Professional Educator License or Educator License with Stipulations), properly endorsed for this position. Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills: Knowledge of subject matter aligned with state certification requirements; knowledge of contemporary teaching practices and classroom management techniques. Ability to modify instruction to meet student needs; collaborate with school staff to develop and implement a coherent instructional program; work effectively with pupils, parents, guardians, staff, and community representatives; understand diverse pupil developmental needs. Skill in applying contemporary teaching practices; good oral and written communication; strong interpersonal skills and professional judgment. Physical Requirements Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and up to 10 pounds of force frequently; occasional stooping, reaching, handling, and fingering; continuous talking and hearing; near and occasional distant visual acuity.
