Behavioral Health Technician PRN

Overview Schedule: Varies, includes Days/Nights/Weekends Job Type: PRN Behavioral Health Tech – Join our team in a 33-bed Behavioral Health Unit specializing in adult and geriatric patients. Staffed with RNs, CNAs, Mental Health Assistants, Psychiatrists, and Mental Health Providers. The unit operates with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6‑1:9 and treats a variety of diagnoses including major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, borderline personality disorder, and substance use disorder. How You'll Contribute Perform basic patient care activities as delegated by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output. Assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living, such as bathing, grooming, eating, and ambulation. Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, or emotional conditions to nursing staff. Help keep patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean, and orderly. What We're Looking For High school diploma or equivalent (preferred). Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days and Handle With Care within 6 months. Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision, and work effectively in a stressful environment. Preferred: Six months of experience working with the population served or Peer Support Specialist Training or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
