Work Environment

This full-time, onsite position operates within our bustling surgical center in Rome, NY, where you will engage daily with a multidisciplinary team, including surgeons, nurses, and administrative staff. The facility is designed to facilitate patient safety and comfort while enabling efficient workflow and optimal care delivery. You will work primarily Monday through Friday, starting your shifts at 5:00 PM, making it ideal for those who thrive in active, fast-paced settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations and review patient medical histories to assess health status.
• Order, interpret, and analyze diagnostic tests such as blood work and imaging studies to inform treatment decisions.
• Diagnose and provide treatment plans for a range of conditions, focusing particularly on complexities encountered in familial and surgical care.
• Collaborate with supervising physicians to develop and implement personalized treatment strategies for chronic and infectious diseases.
• Prescribe medications, monitor patient responses, and adjust treatment regimens accordingly to ensure optimal health outcomes.
• Maintain detailed, organized patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems to track patient progress and enhance continuity of care.
• Deliver patient education on various health issues, preventive measures for disease, and lifestyle modifications to enhance overall well-being.
• Participate actively in daily rounds, contributing to an integrative care model that values input from all healthcare team members.

This role predominantly serves a diverse patient population that includes pre-operative and post-operative patients, families requiring education about surgical procedures, and individuals managing chronic health conditions. Qualifications

• Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program.
• Current certification as a Physician Assistant through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• A valid state license as a Physician Assistant in New York.
• Minimum of 2 years of proven clinical experience in a family health clinic, surgical center, or similar healthcare setting.
• Strong understanding of health care regulations and best practices in patient care.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective interactions with patients and families.

Preferred Experience

• Experience within a surgical setting, preferably with exposure to various surgical procedures.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 140,000 to 160,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
