Experienced Physician Assistant for Specialized Pain Management Clinic

Position Overview

Horizon Health PA Clinic is seeking a dedicated and experienced Physician Assistant to join our onsite Pain Management team in Rome, New York. This full-time role involves diagnosing and treating a variety of pain-related health conditions while promoting effective health practices. As a physician assistant, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with our skilled healthcare team.

Work Environment

The Physician Assistant will work within a dynamic and supportive environment dedicated to pain management. Our facility operates Monday through Friday, offering a structured schedule of 40 hours per week with the last patient seen by 5:00 PM. Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Conducting thorough patient assessments and developing personalized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
• Performing comprehensive physical examinations and ordering diagnostic tests to inform treatment decisions.
• Administering advanced injections, including trigger point and joint injections, to alleviate patient pain.
• Prescribing medications and providing expert recommendations for pain management strategies tailored to individual patient needs.
• Monitoring patient progress and making necessary adjustments to treatment plans based on ongoing evaluations.
• Educating patients and their families about pain management techniques, treatment options, and medication management to foster better understanding and compliance.
• Maintaining detailed and accurate patient records, supported by our electronic health record (EHR) system, to ensure continuity of care.
• Participating in regular multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care strategies and collaborate on complex cases.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse patient population that includes individuals experiencing acute and chronic pain conditions. We emphasize comprehensive and compassionate care for patients of all ages, attempting to improve their quality of life through effective pain management interventions. Qualifications

To qualify for this role, you must possess:

• A Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program.
• A valid New York State Physician Assistant license.
• Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C).
• A valid DEA and NPI number.
• Strong foundational knowledge of health and patient care regulations.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with patients and the healthcare team.

Preferred Experience

In addition to the required qualifications, we prefer candidates to have:

• Previous experience as a Physician Assistant in a clinical or hospital setting, especially within pain management or related specialties such as acute care, internal medicine, or emergency medical services.
• A demonstrated ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient care.
• A proactive approach to professional development, including staying informed about advancements and evidence-based practices in pain management.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this position ranges from USD 140,000 to 160,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer:
