The Medical Staff Coordinator interacts in a professional, respectful manner with internal and external customers. Team-oriented work environment. Qualifications Here's What You Need High School Diploma or equivalent required Associate Degree preferred. Two years medical staff or hospital credentialing experience required, five years preferred. Knowledge of Joint Commission (JACHO) standards and regulatory requirements preferred. What You Will Do Monitor the reappointment and elevation processes from initiation to completion according to established policies and procedures. Ensure timely completion of reappointment and elevation application process, renewing of privileges, and review by supervisor. Development of credentialing criteria for new privileges, processing requests for additional privileges, responding to both internal and external customers requiring reports or information, and special projects. Examine, research, and gather necessary information to process credentialing applications. Enter or post requested privileges in database. Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date computerized database and credentials files for all appointees as assigned. Work closely with group providers to obtain documents for enrollment. Serves as a resource for hospital staff, physicians and their office staff in relation to Medical Staff activities.
