Service Oklahoma offers a generous benefits package, including a benefits allowance to offset the costs of medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance plans. Service Oklahoma will match up to 7% towards an employee's Defined Contribution retirement plan. Our employees receive 11 paid holidays, 15 days of paid annual leave, which increases with every 5 years of service, and 15 days of paid sick leave. Additionally, employees will receive longevity payments based on their years of service with the State of Oklahoma.Job DescriptionPosition Summary:The Implied Consent Staff Attorney position is responsible for performing professional legal representation for Service Oklahoma, primarily in the area of implied consent litigation. Professional legal research and representation may be required in other areas related to driver license and motor vehicle services.Position Responsibilities:This job description describes the general nature and level of work performed by the employee assigned to this position. It should not be construed as an exhaustive list of all required duties, responsibilities and skills.Ensures compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including but not limited to those specific to Service Oklahoma.Prepares various briefs, pleadings, motions, petitions, and other legal documents.Assembles legal materials, agency data, documents, and pleadings for court cases.Ensures that deadlines are met for filing various court actions.Participates in all aspects of litigation.Provides management with advice and work product exhibiting knowledge, insight, and understanding of relevant law and facts.Other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to draft clear and concise legal documents, and correspondence.Strong presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts to diverse audiences in a clear and persuasive manner.Uncompromising ethical standards with a commitment to upholding the highest levels of integrity and professionalism in all aspects of the role.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities and circumstances.Resilience in the face of challenges, with the ability to maintain composure under pressure and navigate ambiguity with confidence.Ability to perform independent research, analysis, and application of legal principles, facts, and precedents.Education & Experience:Graduation from an accredited law school; PLUS licensed to practice law in the State of Oklahoma; PLUS minimum one (1) year legal experience as a licensed attorneySpecial Requirements:The schedule for this position may vary and require flexibility, including some early or late shifts, weekends, and occasional overtime, based on the needs of the agency.This position will require occasional travel. The employee must be willing and able to perform all job-related travel.
