Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments and initial evaluations of patients with trauma-related mental health issues, ensuring a holistic understanding of their emotional and psychological needs. Develop personalized treatment plans tailored to the individual needs of each patient, implementing evidence-based strategies for managing trauma symptoms and fostering resilience. Engage in regular one-on-one sessions with clients to monitor their progress, adapting treatment plans as necessary to meet evolving needs. Educate both patients and staff on coping mechanisms for stress and trauma, empowering them with tools to improve their mental health outcomes. Provide resources and referrals that will assist patients in achieving their personal goals and improve their quality of life. Collaborate with other healthcare providers, social services, and community programs to ensure a comprehensive approach to each patient's care journey. Participate in ongoing professional development, including continuing education courses, to maintain your National Certified Counselor certification and stay current on industry best practices. Patient Population / Client Focus You will primarily work with individuals who have experienced trauma injuries, addressing complex mental health conditions that arise from these experiences. This population often requires sensitive handling and a nuanced understanding of trauma-informed care. Your role will involve creating a safe space where clients can freely express themselves and engage in their healing journey. Qualifications A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) designation. A master's degree in Mental Health Counseling or a closely related field. Minimum of three (3) years of experience specifically working with trauma patients, demonstrating your ability to navigate complex emotional and psychological challenges. Preferred Experience Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite for documentation, communication, and presentations. Strong communication skills to effectively engage with clients and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Experience with Salesforce or Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is a plus, facilitating patient management and data tracking.
