Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough mental health evaluations through initial consultations, documenting all findings and treatments effectively. Develop individualized treatment plans, utilizing evidence-based practices that align with the unique needs of each client, including individuals, couples, families, and groups. Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, aimed at supporting clients' mental health recovery and promoting personal growth. Monitor client progress consistently, adjusting treatment plans as necessary and documenting changes to ensure optimal care. Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including physicians and social workers, to develop comprehensive intervention plans and coordinate care for clients. Communicate regularly with psychiatrists regarding client medications and any necessary follow-ups for those requiring hospitalization. Identify and intervene to prevent setbacks in client recovery, utilizing your expertise in crisis management and therapeutic techniques. Engage with family members and primary caregivers, providing education and support to help them navigate mental health challenges. Patient Population / Client Focus Your work will focus on a diverse client population facing various mental, behavioral, and emotional health challenges. These may include issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse, and relationship difficulties. Your goal will be to empower clients with coping strategies and resilience to improve their mental health and overall quality of life. Qualifications A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required. Current licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in New Jersey. A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE). Previous experience working in a mental health counseling role is essential. Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as AVATAR is preferred. Knowledge of addiction disorders and underlying physical health conditions related to mental health. Strong understanding of American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong ability to connect with clients empathetically. Preferred Experience Direct experience in group psychotherapy settings and individual counseling. Experience in developing and implementing comprehensive treatment plans and employing various therapeutic modalities. Proven capability in consulting and collaborating within interdisciplinary teams.
