Senior Accounting Manager

As the organization continues to grow, they are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and help ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of the organization’s financial reporting. About the Role Key Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, cash management, and reconciliations Manage and drive an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual close process Prepare and review financial statements and management reporting Maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards Manage fund accounting , including tracking restricted and unrestricted funds, grants, and program-specific expenses Monitor and report on restricted funds and ensure proper classification and utilization of donor- and grant-restricted resources Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for the annual audit and work closely with external auditors Ensure compliance with applicable nonprofit reporting requirements Oversee grant accounting and financial reporting, as applicable Develop and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies and procedures Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, and efficiencies Partner with leadership and department heads to provide financial insight and support decision-making Assist the CFO/finance leadership team with special projects and financial analysis Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 5+ years of progressive accounting experience Prior nonprofit accounting experience is required Strong fund accounting experience is preferred Prior experience managing, supervising, or mentoring accounting staff Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit financial reporting Experience with month-end and year-end close processes Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements Experience supporting external audits Strong Excel skills and experience working with accounting/ERP systems Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment #J-18808-Ljbffr
