Associate Scientist II/Scientist I, Predictive Stability

AbbVie Analytical R&D seeks an Associate Scientist II/Scientist I to support early-phase development of small molecule drug substances and products. The role focuses on predictive stability studies, degradation pathway analysis, and generating reliable analytical data within cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute routine analytical experiments independently with precision and reproducibility
• Generate, analyze, and interpret experimental data while identifying significant deviations
• Build stability profiles and degradation pathways for small molecules and synthetic modalities
• Document all activities and results in GMP-compliant electronic data systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners including Process Chemistry, Drug Product Development, and Quality Assurance

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or analytical chemistry, or Master's degree with no additional experience required
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with HPLC, including method optimization and troubleshooting
• Knowledge of chromatography and/or spectroscopy techniques for analytical work
• Understanding of organic chemistry and degradation pathways
• Strong organizational and communication skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to work independently, learn quickly, and troubleshoot technical issues
