Scientist, II

AbbVie Process Chemistry seeks a Scientist II to develop synthetic processes for peptide programs from preclinical through clinical phases. The role involves leading synthetic chemistry initiatives, executing drug substance development activities, and collaborating across cross-functional project teams.

Responsibilities

Develop and optimize robust synthetic processes for peptide and synthetic molecule assets
Participate in project teams for asset development, characterization, and evaluation
Establish, communicate, and execute research plans aligned with project objectives
Interpret experimental results, identify deviations, and design follow-up studies
Maintain high productivity and independence in laboratory research and method development

Requirements

BS, MS, or PhD in Chemistry or related field
7+ years industrial experience (BS level) or 5+ years (MS/PhD level)
GMP manufacturing and peptide process development experience
Strong scientific leadership and communication skills
Team player with ability to collaborate across functions
Proficiency in experimental design and problem-solving
