A rewarding contract opportunity awaits for a certified Special Education Teacher passionate about making a difference in the lives of young learners in the West Chester, PA area. You’ll work as an itinerant teacher, providing crucial support to preschool children with special education needs across various community preschools. This full-time position offers consistent weekday hours, allowing for meaningful connections with students, ongoing professional support, and a manageable caseload.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Pennsylvania certification in PK-4 and/or Special Education (emergency permits not accepted)
- Previous experience working with children with special education needs is highly desirable
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills when collaborating with diverse educators, families, and community partners
- Ability to work effectively across multiple preschool settings within the local area
- Adaptable, organized, and passionate about early intervention
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct special education services to preschool children within community preschool environments
- Manage a caseload of approximately 30 students, tailoring instruction and support to individual needs
- Consult with preschool staff and families to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Travel between community preschools to provide ongoing support, evaluate progress, and document services
- Participate in required training and follow provided guidance for service delivery
- Maintain timely, accurate records according to program and state requirements
