Make a positive impact in education by supporting students as a Special Education Teacher working with either middle or high school-aged youth. This contract, onsite position offers the opportunity to specialize in core subject areas while creating engaging, differentiated learning experiences for students with unique needs.

There are four available openings: one for a middle school classroom (hours: 8:30AM-4PM or 8AM-3:15PM, determined by the school) and three for high school, each focusing on a subject concentration—Science, Math, and Social Studies (hours: 7:15AM-2:45PM). All roles are full-time, spanning the academic year from August 24, 2026, through June 10, 2027, at 35 hours weekly.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree (required for an emergency teaching permit if needed)
• Active certification/licensure appropriate to caseload
• Previous experience working in schools, especially urban settings
• Deep subject matter knowledge in Science, Math, or Social Studies
• Exceptional classroom and behavioral management skills
• Ability to develop and adapt lessons using PA state and district standards
• Mastery in formative assessment, differentiation, and instructional strategies
• Comfortable with district policies and onsite environment
• Reliable transportation for daily commute
• Capacity to complete all required Pennsylvania state clearances
• Must maintain consistent availability during scheduled hours (no schedule accommodations)

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction to meet diverse learner needs
• Create and implement individualized lesson plans and assessments
• Foster a positive and productive classroom environment
• Collaborate with fellow educators and support staff
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional approaches as needed
• Uphold district policies and maintain accurate records
