Sr Customer Relations and Quality Manager

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and results‑driven Quality Manager to lead plant‑level quality execution and ensure the highest standards of product and process quality. The role is accountable for customer quality performance, Quality Management System (QMS) ownership, laboratory operations, and end‑to‑end problem resolution, driving customer satisfaction, compliance, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Customer Quality & Relationship Management – Serve as the primary quality interface to customers, ensuring strong relationships and responsiveness. Lead communication and resolution of customer non‑conformities, complaints, and escapes. Ensure timely and high‑quality responses using structured problem‑solving methodologies (8D, RCCA). Drive customer satisfaction through proactive risk identification and mitigation. QMS Ownership – Own and maintain the plant Quality Management System in compliance with internal and external standards. Ensure robust documentation control, process standardization, audit readiness, and drive audit closure of findings with continuous improvement. Promote adoption of quality standards, procedures, and best practices across all functions. Laboratory & Inspection Operations – Lead and manage lab operations, including testing, inspection, and validation activities. Ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance of testing methods and results. Optimize lab processes to support production and customer requirements efficiently and drive continuous improvement in measurement systems. Problem Solving & Quality Assurance – Facilitate structured root‑cause problem solving for internal and external quality issues. Ensure effective implementation and validation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and partner with manufacturing and engineering teams to address process‑related quality risks. Plant‑Wide Quality Improvement – Lead cross‑functional quality improvement initiatives to enhance process capability, reduce defects, and improve First Pass Yield (FPY). Deploy Built‑In Quality principles, establish and track key quality KPIs (PPM, COPQ, scrap, rework, escapes), and drive a culture of continuous improvement through Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. Qualifications High school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in manufacturing quality. 7–12+ years of experience in manufacturing quality or quality leadership roles. Strong experience with QMS and audits. Proven track record in customer quality management and issue resolution. Strong knowledge of problem‑solving tools (8D, RCA, FMEA, SPC). Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt). Experience leading lab/testing or inspection operations. Familiarity with Zero Defect, Built‑In Quality, and Lean manufacturing principles. Experience in industrial, energy, or heavy manufacturing environments. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree from an accredited university or college. A strong sense of ownership for quality performance and customer satisfaction. Passion for driving quality at the source and preventing defects. Ability to lead teams through complex quality challenges. Commitment to building robust and sustainable quality systems.
