Sr. Category Manager - Technology & Global Services

Senior Category Manager – Responsible for managing all demand and supply management activities for one or more categories of spend, optimizing total cost of ownership, managing supplier risk, ensuring suppliers meet required timelines, and delivering business stakeholder value. Works closely with executive partners and cross‑functional teams to develop and execute fit‑for‑purpose category strategies and manage high‑complexity sourcing events. Location Richmond, VA – 1001 Semmes Avenue Charlotte, NC – 214 North Tryon Street Greensboro, NC – 7701 Airport Center Drive Atlanta, GA – 303 Peachtree Center Avenue Essential Duties And Responsibilities Develop and partner with Category Managers/Directors to implement category strategies that optimize business efficiency and drive maximum value. Develop deep expertise in assigned categories, maintain understanding of global supply markets, competitors, and product innovations. Build strong relationships with internal customers and industry suppliers; partner with business leaders to align sourcing strategies with business goals. Lead cross‑functional teams in creating category specifications, RFIs, RFPs, contracts, and sourcing project plans. Perform market data analysis for negotiations, supplier selection, and high‑complexity sourcing events; compile commodity profile details and produce performance dashboards. Execute the full sourcing process, including scope development, supplier selection, commercial negotiation, risk stakeholder engagement, and contract execution. Drive improvement of vendor performance and optimize allocation of spend. Promote risk excellence by owning bank‑wide policies related to sourcing, purchasing, travel, expense reimbursement, and contingent workforce; ensure compliance with regulatory directives. Manage project pipeline and ensure delivery to agreed timelines and expectations. Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required. 6 to 10 years of relevant sourcing experience in regulated organizations. Knowledge of markets, suppliers, and cost drivers; experience managing matrixed supplier relationships. Direct management experience of a sourcing/procurement team with strategic development responsibilities in financial services and/or heavily regulated industries. Ability to learn content quickly and apply a strategic lens to category spend. Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills. Track record of supplier consolidation and drive spend to preferred suppliers. Subject matter expertise in strategic sourcing methodology and techniques. Proficient analytical, written, verbal, project management, and business acumen skills. Proficient negotiation and influencing skills; interpersonal skills for communication at all levels. Self‑motivated with executive presence and presentation skills. Preferred Qualifications MBA, Master’s in Supply Chain, or industry certifications. Broad experience across procurement, sourcing, and third‑party management functions. Annual base salary: $116,500 – $160,000.
