Budget Management Analyst

About the Position Budget Management Analyst 1A (grade A-18/21) within the Management Services Division. This entry‑level trainee professional position involves conducting detailed analyses and providing recommendations concerning County Government or other County Agency operating and capital budgets, performing moderately complex special issue and project management assignments, and/or performing program evaluation and management analysis assignments. Responsibilities Develop budgetary and program data for assigned Departmental program areas. Lead supporting and program staff in the development of program budgets and the preparation of internal reports as requested. Prepare and submit program expenditure reports. Prepare fiscal analysis of program expenditures. Ensure that all program expenditures incurred are in compliance with County, State and Federal regulations for assigned program areas. Review internal expenditure requests to ensure that funding is adequate. Process expenditure requests in a timely fashion. Review County reports and documents to determine if expenditures incurred are appropriate. Prepare journal entries or other corrective action to correct any unauthorized expenditures. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Business/Public Management, Finance, Economics, Quantitative Analyses, or a closely related field. Any equivalent combination of relevant training, education and experience may also be considered. Conditions of Employment Meet all training and performance standards and demonstrate proficiency as required by the agency. Wear and use agency protective apparel and equipment in the performance of assigned duties. Successfully pass preemployment checks which may include reference checks, background investigations, and drug screenings. Be willing and able to serve as an essential employee. Essential employees are expected to report during standard or non‑standard hours as operations necessitate, or during emergencies, and remain at work when other County employees are granted Administrative Leave.
