Salary Range: $110,000–$200,000

For over 30 years, our client's organization has been an industry leader providing Project Management Solutions to their clients on their Capital Construction Projects. Focusing in the Transportation, Utilities, Oil, Gas, Water and other Large Construction Projects, their Project Controls Professionals have worked on some of the largest Capital Construction Projects throughout the US. They are Certified as a Federal Service Disabled, Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and State of California Small Business and Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (SB/DVBE).
Position Summary
The Risk Specialist sits within the Project Controls and Project Financial office and supports comprehensive program risk management activities for a large capital construction program. This role focuses on maintaining risk reporting tools, managing the program risk register, supporting cost and schedule risk analysis, and partnering with stakeholders to strengthen program-level risk oversight.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the establishment and maintenance of cost and schedule baselines used to assess risk exposure
- Support input required for external stakeholders, grant applications, and program reporting
- Develop and maintain risk reporting tools for cost and schedule risk analysis
- Manage the program risk register and coordinate between program-level and project-level risks
- Maintain and update the Program Risk Management Plan and prepare quarterly risk management reports
- Provide guidance, templates, and tools for project risk management, including qualitative risk registers and quantitative risk assessments
- Support project teams in implementing risk management strategies and maintaining contingency plans
- Review and challenge project-level risk assessments to help ensure completeness, accuracy, and effectiveness
- Collaborate with Enterprise Risk personnel to align program efforts with broader risk management objectives
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
- 10+ years of experience in risk management or closely related roles
- Strong understanding of risk management processes and methodologies
- Strong experience with Monte Carlo analysis and risk register development, management, and reporting
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on large-scale infrastructure programs or within multi-disciplinary teams
- Experience implementing and maintaining risk tools from an enterprise or program-level perspective is highly beneficial
- Knowledge of risk management practices in infrastructure or construction environments
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines
