Staff Accountant

Staff AccountantLocation: Downtown Los Angeles, CA- Onsite Salary: $70,000 – $75,000.00 annuallyOur client, a non-profit located in Downtown Los Angeles, is looking to hire a Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with nonprofit accounting standards. This role will work closely with internal teams to maintain financial integrity and support the organization's programs and initiatives.Key Responsibilities:Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end close processesPerform bank, general ledger, and balance sheet reconciliationsMaintain accurate financial records in accordance with GAAPAssist with preparation of financial statements and internal reportingSupport accounts payable and accounts receivable processesMonitor and track expenses, including grant-related or restricted fundsAssist with audit preparation and provide supporting documentationReview transactions for accuracy and proper codingCollaborate with internal departments to ensure timely and accurate financial dataAssist with process improvements and additional accounting projects as neededQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field2+ years of general ledger accounting experience (nonprofit experience highly preferred)Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principlesExperience with month-end close and account reconciliationsExperience with Sage Intacct highly preferredAdvanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas)Strong attention to detail, organization, and analytical skillsExcellent communication and ability to work in a team-oriented environment
