Staff Accountant

Description of Duties: Title: Staff Accountant Classification: Non-Exempt Salary Range *: $35-$38 per hour Location: Van Nuys, CA Schedule*: Hybrid, Monday through Friday 9:00AM-6:00PM (in office a minimum of 3 days/week). May require extended hours during close or audit periods. DÔEN is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing team in Los Angeles. This hybrid position reports to the Sr. Accounting Manager and plays a key role in supporting the day-to‑day operations of the accounting team while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial records. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, demonstrates a high level of accountability. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting functions, including maintaining the general ledger, preparing journal entries and account reconciliations, assisting with month‑end and year‑end close processes, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting policies. This role will collaborate cross‑functionally to help drive accurate financial reporting and operational efficiency. Responsibilities: Prepare, reconcile, and analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records. Manage sales tax reporting and reconciliations Maintain fixed asset records, calculate depreciation, and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Prepare and post journal entries and assist with month‑end and year‑end close activities in accordance with established timelines. Maintain the general ledger by ensuring financial transactions are accurately recorded and properly documented. Perform daily bank and corporate credit card reconciliations, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded, properly supported, and discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner. Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements and supporting schedules. Support the budgeting and forecasting process by analyzing sales, gross margin, and operating expenses. Maintain organized, accurate, and audit‑ready financial records while ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting policies. Partner with cross‑functionally teams to support accounting initiatives, process improvements, audits, and other special projects as needed. Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 2-4 years of progressive accounting experience. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting. Experience with ERP systems ( NetSuite, preferred). Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
