The FNB Community Bank  is locally owned in Bond, Fayette, and Marion Counties. Established in 1865, we currently have 7 locations in the following communities: Vandalia, Patoka, Ramsey, Greenville, & Mulberry Grove. We have a Business Development Officer position available at our main office located in Vandalia.

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

The Business Development Officer partners closely with commercial lenders to grow and deepen business relationships. This role focuses on the development of commercial deposits, merchant services, and business banking solutions while ensuring a seamless customer experience. The position serves as a key resource for business clients and internal teams by bridging commercial banking sales, product knowledge, and operational execution.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

• Relationship Management & Sales 
  • Partner with commercial lenders to develop and expand business relationships, focusing on deposit growth, non-credit services, and treasury management.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business clients, ensuring a high level of service and responsiveness. 
  • Identify opportunities to deepen customer relationships through treasury, merchant services, and other business banking solutions. 
  • Maintain a consistent calling effort, achieving established goals for client outreach, referrals, and business development. 
  • Participate in community organizations and activities to enhance the bank’s image and develop additional business opportunities
• Products & Solutions
  • Serve as the primary resource for commercial deposit products, merchant services, and related business banking solutions. 
  • Assist in evaluating current products and services to ensure competitiveness, relevance, and customer value. 
  • Support the implementation and rollout of new commercial products and services. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams to structure solutions that meet the needs of business clients.
• Operations & Customer Experience 
  • Support the onboarding and servicing of commercial clients to ensure a smooth and efficient experience. 
  • Collaborate with operations and retail teams to ensure accurate and compliant account setup and maintenance. 
  • Assist in identifying and improving processes to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency. 
  • Resolve client issues promptly and effectively, ensuring a positive client experience
• Collaboration & Support
  • Work closely with lenders, retail teams, and operations to achieve individual, departmental, and bank goals. 
  • Assist with strategic initiatives and business development efforts. 
  • Provide support and product knowledge to internal teams to enhance overall commercial banking capabilities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Work will occasionally be done outside in all weather conditions.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field, or equivalent work experience preferred 
• Minimum of 3–5 years of commercial banking, business banking, or related experience 
• Experience with business development, deposit growth, and client relationship management preferred

• Operate office equipment including telephones, copiers, fax machines, PCs, and printers.
• Advanced proficiency in computer applications is required.
