A high degree of problem-solving ability is required to assemble complex and precision mechanical assemblies and complicated mechanisms to build a quality product. The machinery has critical dimensional specifications and operating relationships where fitting of components, calibration of operating units, alignment and/or balancing of completed assemblies requires the application of skilled mechanical principles and a broad knowledge of assembly techniques. A high degree of problem-solving ability is required to assemble complex and precision mechanical assemblies and complicated mechanisms to build a quality product. The machinery has critical dimensional specifications and operating relationships where fitting of components, calibration of operating units, alignment and/or balancing of completed assemblies requires the application of skilled mechanical principles and a broad knowledge of assembly techniques. The Assembly Technician assists with final inspection and testing of machinery to ensure equipment meets performance standards and requirements. The position reports to the Supply Chain Director. Responsibilities are listed below:Assemble mechanical and basic electromechanical components using hand and power toolsFollow work instructions, assembly drawings, and job travelersVerify parts and materials prior to assembly and report discrepanciesPerform in-process inspections to ensure quality and workmanship standards are metDocument completed work, quantities, and any rework or defectsHandle materials safely to prevent damage or scrapMaintain a clean and organized workstation in accordance with safety standardsIdentify and communicate quality or process issues to supervisionAssist with basic troubleshooting under supervisionComply with all safety, quality, and company policiesPerform other related duties as assignedJOB REQUIREMENTS:High School degree or equivalent, Technical degree or training preferred3 to 4 years' experience as a machinery assemblerGood interpersonal skills and ability to handle a multi-tasked role and good organizational skillsMath abilities to include knowledge of fractions and decimal equivalents.
