What We're Looking For :
This professional person is responsible for representing the Philanthropic Collaborative to prospective and current donors, professional advisors, board members, and charitable organizations with a focus on exemplary customer service that builds trust and engagement. This position manages a portfolio of prospective donors and professional advisors; develops and executes cultivation and solicitation strategies; must be knowledgeable about planned gift vehicles; and provides philanthropic expertise and exemplary customer service to facilitate donor's charitable intent. This job requires a high level of selling of gift planning products and services to bring in more donor-advised and other donor-directed funds. This position directs planned giving strategy alongside the development and donor engagement teams and drives the implementation of those strategies.
Responsibilities:
The following functions have been determined by CICF to be essential to the successful performance of this position:
- Plays an active role in prospective donor identification, research, and evaluation. Actively works to identify, cultivate, and provide stewardship to individuals, families, charitable organizations, businesses, and professional advisors regarding how CICF can assist with their philanthropic goals.
- Manages a portfolio of prospective donors and professional advisors. This includes facilitating opportunities for donor-advised funds, impact investing accounts, community endowment fund gifts, designated funds, agency endowments, and planned gifts; and maintaining exceptional prospective donor and professional advisor records in the Foundation's integrated database, including profile information, history, codes, interests, etc.
- Develops and leads an ongoing planned giving campaign to increase estate and deferred gifts to CICF and its affiliates, including both community endowment and donor-directed gifts; actively manages up to leadership to maintain planned giving progress throughout the development lifecycle.
- Manages the creation and development of fund, gift, and account agreements on behalf of the development team; and works with the Foundation's General Counsel to maintain current legal and compliant templates of all charitable giving documents.
- Develops and manages the annual programming for the Professional Advisor Network and Leadership Council, which includes project managing event logistics, curriculum development, and professional advisor newsletter.
- Creates and manages strategies for educational opportunities related to planned giving, charitable gift planning, and development best practices for both internal and external audiences; and actively seeks opportunities for presentations to professional advisor firms and partners.
- Develop plans and strategies in partnership with donor engagement staff for additional gifts from current donors, including cultivating past and current donors to encourage additional contributions to established funds, creation of new funds, and future contributions through deferred gift plans.

Requirements:
The following are the qualifications and minimum requirements necessary for a person to perform this job:
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required.
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience in the not-for-profit or public sector is required.
- Understanding and adherence to high standards of ethics and confidentiality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to write clearly with proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Ability to speak, write, and dress in a professional and appropriate manner. Ability to effectively interact and communicate with others in a professional and appropriate manner, including the ability to discuss multiple concepts with others.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and work independently.
- Excellent organizational and workload prioritizing skills.
- Excellent conceptual and analytical skills; ability to research and analyze data and information.
- Ability to organize, facilitate, and manage both internal and external projects and meetings in an efficient and effective manner.
- Proficiency with MS Office products and with integrated database software preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years' experience in not-for-profit development preferred.
- Experience in development, planned giving, or customer service is recommended.
- Advanced professional training with fundraising or planned giving (such as CFRE, CFRM or CAP) preferred.
