Institutional Giving Officer

The Institutional Giving Officer is responsible for building and maintaining an institutional giving program that supports our nine collaborative funds as well as general operating support to Borealis. This position is responsible for writing funding proposals and reports in a clear and compelling manner and supporting the development and program teams in cultivating and stewarding of strong relationships with donors. Under minimal oversight and within overall objectives, the Institutional Giving Officer resolves complex problems and assesses different strategies to enhance processes and systems for consideration.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in related field with five (5) years of experience, or a combination of education and experience
• Five (5) years of experience in nonprofit development or fundraising role, including working with institutional funders
• Experience with CRM databases, Salesforce preferred
• Experience using systems and tools such as Zoom, Google Suite, Slack, and Asana

• Excellent writing skills, grant writing experience, and the ability to synthesize information, interpret data and incorporate feedback as part of the writing process
• Strong oral communication skills and demonstrated experience building relationships with funders
• Ability to handle confidential donor information with sensitivity and integrity
• Ability to problem-solve, plan, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks
• Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships within a diverse virtual work environment
• Proven project management, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills, with excellent attention to detail and good follow-through
