Call Center Representative

We are seeking a bilingual Call Center Representative for an opportunity in San Juan, PR within the healthcare services industry. This role is ideal for a customer-focused professional who enjoys helping patients, solving problems, and working in a fast-paced call center environment.

The Call Center Representative will support patient access by handling inbound and outbound calls, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, updating patient records, and ensuring each caller receives accurate, professional, and compassionate service. Key Responsibilities

- Handle inbound and outbound calls to identify patient needs, answer questions, and provide appropriate support.
- Schedule, reschedule, confirm, and cancel patient appointments while maintaining accuracy in the scheduling system.
- Enter, review, and update patient demographics, consent forms, insurance eligibility, payer sources, and registration documents.
- Create new patient accounts as needed and import registration documents into electronic health records.
- Transfer calls, relay messages to physicians and nurses, and escalate caller inquiries when additional support is required.
- Document all interactions and resolutions accurately while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality, performance standards, and quality expectations.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay rate: $13.85 per hour.
- Job type: Temp to hire.
- Schedule: 40-hour workweek during standard business operating hours, Monday through Sunday, between 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM.
- Location: San Juan, PR.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- 1 year of customer service experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional verbal and written proficiency in both English and Spanish.
- Experience using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Google Docs, or Google Sheets.
- Ability to learn, navigate, and work within complex computer systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to follow up on customer issues.
- Excellent communication, listening, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work a 40-hour schedule within the required operating hours, including potential weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous call center experience in healthcare, patient services, medical scheduling, or insurance verification.
- Familiarity with electronic health records, appointment scheduling systems, or patient registration platforms.
- Knowledge of HIPAA requirements and healthcare customer service best practices.
