We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a team in Stamford, Connecticut in a Contract to Permanent position. This opportunity is well suited for someone who thrives in a fast-moving setting, brings strong attention to detail, and can keep payables activity organized from receipt through payment. The role focuses on maintaining accurate invoice records, supporting timely approvals, and ensuring payments are processed consistently and correctly.

Responsibilities:
• Manage the accounts payable cycle from invoice intake through final payment entry, maintaining accuracy at each stage.
• Review incoming invoices, confirm coding and supporting details, and route items through approval channels for timely processing.
• Enter and post payable transactions in the appropriate systems so records remain current and complete.
• Record check, ACH, credit card, and other payment activity promptly, including recurring weekly and frequent daily transactions.
• Monitor the shared AP mailbox in Outlook, respond to vendor and internal inquiries, and follow up on outstanding items.
• Track approval progress within the invoice workflow platform and ensure completed items are transferred accurately into Great Plains.
• Verify that vouched invoices are captured without delay to support an efficient and well-controlled payment process.
• Maintain organized payable documentation and help improve day-to-day workflow efficiency across high-volume activity.• Prior experience in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support position.
• Demonstrated ability to handle large volumes of invoices and payment transactions with strong accuracy.
• Working knowledge of invoice coding, payment posting, and end-to-end AP processing.
• Experience with payment methods such as ACH, check runs, and credit card transactions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and comfort working across multiple financial or workflow systems.
• Familiarity with approval and coding platforms such as Mystamply and accounting software such as Great Plains is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills, careful attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing deadlines effectively.
