Senior Payroll Specialist

A growing organization is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to join its accounting and payroll team. This position is responsible for supporting weekly payroll processing, maintaining payroll records, assisting with reporting requirements, and serving as a resource for payroll-related questions. Responsibilities Assist with the preparation and processing of weekly payroll. Maintain accurate payroll records and employee payroll documentation. Support certified payroll reporting and compliance requirements. Prepare and reconcile union-related reports and filings. Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries. Respond to payroll-related phone calls and emails in a professional and timely manner. Collaborate with accounting, HR, and operations teams to ensure payroll accuracy. Assist with audits, reporting, and payroll reconciliations. Provide support for additional accounting and administrative functions as needed. Follow established payroll procedures, internal controls, and company policies. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of 2 years of payroll experience. Experience processing payroll for a large employee population preferred. Construction industry experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
