Role Description The Development Associate is a full‑time, on‑site role based at MOCA in North Miami, FL. This position supports the museum’s fundraising efforts by assisting with donor cultivation, stewardship, and prospect research, as well as preparing proposals, reports, and acknowledgments. Daily responsibilities include maintaining accurate donor records, managing gift entry and tracking, and coordinating development‑related communications and mailings. The role also helps organize fundraising events and membership drives, collaborates with colleagues across departments to gather information for grants and sponsorships, and provides administrative support to the development team. The Development Associate contributes to meeting annual fundraising goals and strengthening relationships with individual donors, foundations, corporate partners, and community stakeholders. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills and communication abilities to interact effectively with donors, colleagues, and community partners. Candidates should possess solid analytical skills and research capabilities to support prospect identification, data management, and report preparation. Candidates should possess a foundational understanding of fundraising practices, including donor stewardship, grant support, and event assistance. Candidates should possess organization and time‑management skills, with attention to detail and proficiency in office software and donor databases or CRM systems. Additional beneficial qualifications include experience in arts or nonprofit organizations, familiarity with contemporary art, and a commitment to equity, inclusion, and community engagement.
