Benefits Manager

Job Description A global law firm is seeking a Benefits Manager - Americas to join their team. The Benefits Manager supports the design, implementation, administration and communication of benefit programs in the Americas region (US, Brazil, Mexico), ensuring they support our people and align with the Firm’s global strategy. You will join the Firm as a member of their Global Benefits team, which sets the strategy and standards for the delivery of benefits to partners and employees throughout the world. In this role you will be involved in all aspects of managing benefits programs and vendors with the potential for playing a role in delegation to and management of junior benefits team members. In addition to developing successful partnerships with external vendor contacts, you will establish strong collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders, including fellow members of the Global Benefits team, People Advisory (HR), Engagement & Development, and Internal Communications colleagues, as well as local office and HR Operations teams to ensure we are working in concert to deliver excellence to partners and employees. Duties include the below:

• Work with leadership on benefits design and strategy across the spectrum of programs (e.g., medical, dental, life, disability, voluntary benefits) to ensure we remain relevant and up to date based on internal and external trends, feedback and benefit plan utilization.
• Oversee day-to-day administration of assigned programs, including managing third-party vendors to ensure excellent service and support (e.g., insurers, brokers, system providers).
• Play a lead role in Workday benefits transformation, including working with implementation partners, ensuring plan operations and requirements are properly documented and addressed in program build, and monitoring maintenance and ongoing updates after launch.
• Provide oversight for the firm's US annual open enrollment planning, communication, and execution.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state laws (ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, etc.) and keep abreast of current and developing legislation, highlighting potential implications to leadership.
• Ensure benefit plan communications remain up to date, clear, relevant, effectively promote our portfolio of benefits, and support an exceptional employee experience.
• Create and continuously update benefit program materials, e.g. emails, benefit guides, summaries, FAQs, and online content.
• Conduct Partner orientations and employee open enrollment meetings.
• Lead and/or support Benefits-specific projects (e.g., RFPs for new providers; implementation of new plans and programs).

• 6+ years of progressive benefits experience with U.S. health and welfare plans, group insurance, disability programs and other ancillary benefits.
• Exceptional vendor management and high-touch client service skills.
• Significant experience with Workday benefits system and transformations.
• Experience ensuring compliance with required reporting and regulations e.g., Form 5500, PCORI, ACA reporting and summary plan descriptions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Power Point. -International/global industry experience preferred.
